Ingredients

  • 1 kg small kohlrabi
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 250 g heavy cream
  • 300 g gorgonzola cheese
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • nutmeg
  • Lemon juice
  • a handful of chervil

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 220°C.

    Peel the kohlrabi, cut into thin slices and blanch in boiling salted water for 3 minutes. Drain and layer the slices in a greased baking dish like roof tiles.

    Bring the cream to a boil. Add the chopped gorgonzola and stir until melted. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

    Wash the chervil, shake off excess water, pluck the leaves from the stems, and scatter most of them over the kohlrabi slices. Pour the sauce over the top and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until bubbling. Sprinkle the remaining chervil leaves before serving.
