Ingredients
- 125 g powdered sugar
- 250 g butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 pinch salt
- 0.5 tsp ground ginger
- 0.5 grated peel of an untreated lemon (zest)
- 375 g flour
- 80 g pure mango jam
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp rum
- red food coloring
Instructions

Cream together powdered sugar, butter, egg yolk, salt, ginger and lemon zest on a work surface.

Add the flour and quickly knead into a shortcrust dough.

Shape into a ball, cover with foil and chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. Then roll out on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 3 mm.

Cut out hearts, place on parchment‑lined baking sheet and bake at 180 °C for about 8–10 minutes until golden. Remove and cool.

Assemble pairs of hearts with jam.

Whisk powdered sugar, lemon juice, rum and food coloring into a thick red glaze. Brush the hearts with the glaze and let dry.
