- 150 g honey
- 100 ml whipping cream
- 250 g soft butter
- 50 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 400 g flour
- 150 g ground almond kernels
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 pinch mace flower
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 2 Tbsp whipping cream
- 80 g almond slivers
- powdered sugar (for dusting)

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with both top and bottom heat. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Warm the honey with the cream in a small pot until melted, then let it cool slightly. Beat the butter with the sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time. Mix the flour with almonds, ginger, mace, and baking powder; alternately stir into the honey‑cream mixture to form a smooth, relatively firm dough. If needed, add more flour or water. Pour into the prepared sheet and spread evenly. Brush with cream, sprinkle almond slivers, and bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes (test with a skewer). If almonds brown too much, cover the cake with foil.
