Hessian Bacon Cake (Bloatz)

Ingredients
- 300 g crust bread
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 500 g leeks
- 500 g boiled potatoes
- 200 g Sour Cream
- 100 g layered cheese (10% fat)
- 3 eggs (medium size)
- 5 tbsp oil
- Salt
- nutmeg
- ground pepper
- 400 g lean, well-marbled bacon (sliced)
Instructions

Prepare the crust bread mixture with yeast according to instructions and let rise for 30 minutes.

Clean, rinse, and finely dice the leeks.

Press the potatoes through a potato masher. Mix well with leeks, sour cream, layered cheese, eggs, and 3 tbsp oil. Season with pepper, 1 tsp salt, a pinch of nutmeg, and pepper.

Knead the dough with 1 tbsp oil, roll it out on a lightly floured surface, and line a greased baking sheet with it. Prick the dough several times with a fork. Spread the potato mixture over the dough.

Slice the bacon lengthwise into thin strips and arrange them in a lattice pattern over the potato layer. Let rise for 15 minutes.

Bake in a preheated oven at 225-250°C (gas: level 5-6, convection: 200-220°C) for 20-25 minutes. Serve hot or lukewarm.
