Hearty Potato‑Meat Skillet with Onions (Tiroler Gröstl)

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 1 kg cooked potatoes
  • 400 g cold pork roast
  • 2 tbsp pork lard
  • 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
  • Salt
  • ground pepper (from the mill)
  • ground caraway

Instructions

    Peel and finely dice the onion. Peel the potatoes and slice them into rounds. Cut the meat into strips.

    Brown the potatoes in hot butter‑lard for about 5 minutes until lightly golden. Add the meat and onions, cooking everything together for another 4–5 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley and season with salt, pepper, and caraway before serving.
