Ingredients

  • 8 large tomatoes
  • 1 head lettuce
  • 4 small bowls of watercress
  • Salt
  • cold‑pressed olive oil
  • freshly ground pepper
  • balsamic vinegar
  • 200 g walnut halves

Instructions

    Wash the tomatoes, halve them and cut into thin slices. Clean the head lettuce, wash it, remove outer leaves, pick off remaining ones and spin dry.

    Make a vinaigrette with 6 tbsp oil, 3 tbsp balsamic, salt and pepper; whisk well. Arrange lettuce, tomatoes, walnut halves and plenty of watercress in small salad bowls. Drizzle with vinaigrette and serve immediately. Fresh white bread pairs nicely.
