Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • 150 g hazelnuts (grated)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp hazelnut liqueur
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • heavy cream (whipped, for serving)
  • butter (for the pan)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Wash the apples, pat dry and with a sharp knife cut zig‑zag patterns into the upper third of each apple up to the middle, then lift the tops. Use an apple corer to remove the cores from the lower two thirds generously.

  2. 2.

Mix the hazelnuts with the egg, cream, liqueur and honey into a thick batter and fill the apples, spreading some filling onto the zig‑zag surface as well. Replace the tops and press down, trimming any excess overhang.

  3. 3.

Place the filled apples in a buttered baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 25–30 minutes.

  4. 4.

Serve on plates garnished with whipped cream.
