Ham and Cheese Salad

A simple, flavorful salad perfect for beginner cooks.

Ingredients

  • 40 g green olives (pitted)
  • 2 tbsp sherry vinegar
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tbsp quince jam
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 50 g Manchego cheese
  • 5 slices Serrano ham
  • 1 head escarole
  • 1 red chicory

Instructions

    Coarsely chop the olives.

  2. 2.

    Whisk vinegar, mustard, quince jam, salt and pepper in a bowl. Slowly whisk in the oil with a whisk.

    Fold the olives into the sauce.

    Slice Manchego cheese thinly and crumble or grate it by hand.

  5. 5.

    Cut ham slices crosswise into halves and shape them into small "flowers".

    Clean, wash and dry escarole and chicory. Cut or tear into bite-sized pieces and place in a large bowl.

    Toss well with olive sauce and divide salad onto two plates. Sprinkle ham and Manchego on top and serve.
