Gyros Soup

Ingredients

  • 300 g chicken breast fillets
  • 2 tsp gyros spice mix
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 2 pickled peppers
  • 1 onion
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (20 g)
  • 500 ml passata tomatoes
  • 350 ml vegetable broth from a bottle
  • Salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 100 g sheep cheese (9% fat)

Instructions

    Slice the meat into strips and rub it heavily with gyros spice. Wash, dry, quarter, deseed, and finely slice the bell peppers. Wash, dry, and cut the pickled peppers into rings.

    Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Heat olive oil in a pot. Sauté the onion and garlic until golden yellow. Add the meat and brown it. Mix in the bell peppers and pickles. Stir in the passata tomatoes and broth and let the soup simmer gently for 15–20 minutes.

    Season with salt and pepper. Crumble the sheep cheese over the gyros soup before serving.
