Ingredients
- 250 g dried chickpeas
- 1 onion
- 1 Garlic clove
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 400 g mixed ground meat
- 1 tsp harissa
- 350 ml beef broth
- 300 g diced tomatoes (canned)
- Salt
- 0.5 tsp ground turmeric
- ground cumin
- ground pepper from the mill
- 0.5 tbsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp lemon juice

Soak the chickpeas overnight in water.

Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Sauté both in oil in a hot tajine until translucent. Add the ground meat and brown it crumbly. Stir in harissa briefly. Deglaze with broth and add tomatoes with drained chickpeas. Season with salt, turmeric, cumin, and pepper; cover and simmer over low heat for about 50 minutes. Add more broth if needed.

Crush the fennel seeds, add them to the tajine, and season with lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
