Ingredients

  • 400 g mixed ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • Salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 100 g frozen peas
  • 2 Apples
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 700 g red cabbage (small head)
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 3 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Orange juice
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 0.5 tsp caraway seeds
  • pepper (ground)
  • 1 package spaetzle (for 4 people)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Peel, chop the onion and sauté in hot butter; add ground beef and cook until crumbly, season with salt and pepper, then add peas without thawing. Cover and steam for about 10 minutes.

  2. 2.

Peel the apples, remove cores with a corer, slice, and slowly fry in butter over medium heat on both sides. Apple slices should be soft but not falling apart.

  3. 3.

Cook spaetzle according to package instructions.

  4. 4.

Quarter the cabbage, trim the core, finely shred it. Mix with 2 tbsp vinegar and combine well; let rest for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Whisk lemon juice, orange juice, caraway seeds, pepper, and oil into a dressing. Rinse the cabbage under lukewarm water, squeeze out excess liquid, and mix with the dressing.

  5. 5.

Plate spaetzle topped with ground beef, peas, apple slices, and red cabbage and serve immediately.
