Ingredients

  • 800 g starchy potatoes
  • Salt
  • 100 g peas (frozen)
  • 3 Carrots
  • 2 onions
  • 800 g ground beef
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 400 ml meat broth
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 250 ml hot milk
  • 40 g Butter
  • Nutmeg (freshly grated)
  • butter (for greasing the dish)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).

  2. 2.

Peel, wash, and boil the potatoes in salted water for 25-30 minutes. Let the frozen peas thaw. Dice carrots and onions finely. In hot oil, brown the ground beef until crumbly, then add the vegetables and cook briefly. Stir in tomato paste, pour in broth, and season with salt and pepper.

  3. 3.

Drain the potatoes, let them dry, then mash. Mix in hot milk and butter, seasoning with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Grease a baking dish. Spoon the beef mixture into the dish, then pipe or spread the mashed potato over it, creating waves with a fork. Bake for about 40 minutes until golden brown.

  4. 4.

Remove from oven and serve immediately.
