Grilled Sausage Skewers with Salad

Ingredients
- 4 bratwurst or sausages
- 4 wooden skewers
- 4 tomatoes
- 1 Red Onion
- 8 sprigs parsley
- 8 basil leaves
- 0.5 lemon
- Salt
- Pepper
- a pinch sugar
- 2 large slices white bread
- olive oil (for brushing)

Cut the sausages into 4‑5 cm pieces and thread 3‑4 pieces onto each skewer.

Preheat the grill.

Wash the tomatoes, pat dry, halve them, remove stems, and dice. Peel the onion, quarter it, and slice into thin strips. Wash parsley and basil, shake dry, then cut leaves into strips or roughly chop. Squeeze lemon juice. Mix tomatoes with onions. Season with salt, pepper, sugar, and lemon juice; fold in parsley and basil.

Grill the bread slices until lightly toasted, brush thinly with olive oil, cut diagonally, and place on a plate. Grill the sausage skewers about 5 minutes each side, then serve them atop the bread slices. Arrange the tomato salad beside them.
