Grilled Mackerel
Grilled mackerel from Spoonsparrow is always a hit!
Ingredients
- 1000 g mackerel (pre‑cooked, 4 fillets)
- Salt
- Pepper
- 6 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 Tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 anchovies
- 2 tbsp capers
- 20 g Parsley (1 bunch)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice

Rinse the mackerel inside and out under cold water and pat dry with kitchen paper. Season all sides with salt and pepper. Brush the grill grate with 1 tbsp olive oil. Grill the mackerel, turning occasionally, for about 10–15 minutes over high heat.

Meanwhile, wash the tomatoes, quarter them, remove seeds and stems, then dice into small cubes. Peel and finely dice the onion. Pat dry and chop the anchovies and capers. Wash the parsley, shake off excess water, and chop the leaves. Combine all salad ingredients with lemon juice and remaining olive oil; season with salt and pepper.

Place the grilled mackerel on a large platter and arrange some of the salad beside it. Serve the rest of the salad separately.
