Grilled Artichokes

Ingredients

  • 4 artichokes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 250 g sheep cheese
  • 2 untreated lemons (juice)
  • 1 small tomato
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 4 tbsp white wine
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 baguette slice

    Preheat the grill.

    Wash the artichokes, remove the stems and pull out the inner leaves, then scoop out the fuzzy center with a spoon. Grate the sheep cheese. Peel the garlic cloves, crush them, and mix with lemon juice; combine this with the grated cheese. Dice the tomato after blanching, peeling, halving, de-seeding, and chopping it small; stir in thyme and add to the artichokes. Spread the cheese mixture over the artichokes, pressing it in slightly. Drizzle with white wine, tightly wrap everything in a large piece of foil, and grill on medium heat for about 30 minutes. In the last 5 minutes, grill the baguette slice as well and serve together.
