Ingredients

  • 1 kg white asparagus
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 basil leaf
  • 120 g diced breakfast bacon
  • 50 g liquid butter
  • 80 g grated Emmental cheese

Instructions

    Peel the asparagus and trim about 1 cm from the bottom. Boil in salted water with the sugar for 12-15 minutes, then drain and arrange side by side in a baking dish.

    Preheat the oven to 200 °C fan‑forced. Wash the basil, shake dry and chop finely. Render the bacon in a dry pan and distribute over the asparagus. Drizzle with butter. Mix the cheese with the basil and sprinkle on top. Bake for about 15 minutes until golden.
