Ingredients

  • 250 g lentils
  • 4 goose legs
  • Salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • 4 EL oil
  • 250 ml clear instant broth
  • 4 apples
  • 2 onions
  • thyme
  • 1 EL vinegar

Instructions

    Cook lentils in water for 35 minutes.

    Rinse and pat dry the goose legs, rub with salt and pepper. Heat 3 EL oil in a braising pot. Brown the goose legs all around. Transfer to a baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (gas: level 2-3, fan: 160°C) for 1½ hours, gradually adding broth during cooking.

    Wash apples, quarter them, core and cut into strips. Peel onions and slice into strips as well. Rinse thyme and marjoram, strip the thyme leaves and pluck the marjoram leaves.

    Heat remaining oil. Quickly sauté apples, herbs, and onions. Drain lentils and add them with the apples 20 minutes before the end of cooking. Season with vinegar, salt, and pepper.
