Gift Cookies

Ingredients
- 50 g Raisins
- Rum (or apple juice for soaking)
- 375 g flour
- 90 g sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 0.5 orange (unprocessed)
- 250 g cold butter
- vanilla sugar (for dusting)

Cover the raisins with rum and let them soak for at least 1 hour.

Mix the flour, sugar, salt, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon. Grate the zest of the orange and add it to the mixture. Cut the butter into pieces, add the well-drained raisins, and knead everything quickly into a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 170 °C (fan). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.4 cm thickness and cut round cookies (≈3 cm diameter) with a cookie cutter. Place the cookies on the tray and bake for about 8–10 minutes until golden yellow. Immediately dust the fresh-baked cookies with vanilla sugar and cool them on a wire rack.
