Ingredients

  • 1 kg kohlrabi
  • Salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 150 g sesame
  • 100 ml sunflower oil

Instructions

  1. 1.

Peel the kohlrabi and cut into 1 cm thick sticks. Boil in salted water for 6-8 minutes until just tender. Drain, let dry on kitchen paper, and spread out.

  2. 2.

Whisk the egg whites in a shallow bowl. Sprinkle sesame onto a plate.

  3. 3.

Dip each kohlrabi stick first in the beaten egg whites, then coat evenly with sesame. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the sticks for 3-4 minutes until golden brown on all sides. Remove, drain on kitchen paper, and keep warm in an oven set to 80°C. Repeat with remaining sticks.

  4. 4.

Serve with a dip made from yogurt, quark or thick milk.
