Ingredients

  • 250 g flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 120 ml milk
  • vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • 4 tbsp Honey
  • 60 g almond flakes

Instructions

    Sift the flour with the baking powder in a bowl, then add the egg and salt while gradually stirring in the milk until you have a smooth dough.

    Heat the oil in a pot. Use a wooden spoon to test if the fat is hot enough; small bubbles should rise at the tip of the spoon. Then drop small dough balls into the oil with the spoon. Fry them, turning occasionally, until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper.

    In a bowl, whisk the cream cheese with 1–2 tbsp honey until smooth. Cut the fried balls in half lengthwise and fill them with the cream cheese mixture. Arrange on small bowls and sprinkle or drizzle with almond flakes and remaining honey.
