Football Chocolate Cake
Try the delicious football chocolate cake from Spoonsparrow!
Ingredients
- 200 g dark chocolate couverture
- 125 g yogurt butter
- 4 eggs
- 125 g sugar
- 150 g flour
- 100 g ground hazelnut kernels
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tbsp milk (1.5% fat)
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions

Break the chocolate into pieces and melt it with the butter over a hot water bath.

Separate the eggs. Beat the yolks with sugar until fluffy, then add the chocolate mixture.

Sift the flour with hazelnuts and baking powder, mix with the chocolate mixture, and add milk. Whisk the egg whites to stiff peaks and fold them in.

Line a 26 cm springform pan with parchment paper and pour in the batter. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (160 °C fan; gas: level 2–3) for about 30 minutes, checking with a skewer test.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then take it out, flip it over, and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Meanwhile, draw and cut a football stencil onto cardboard paper.

Place the stencil on the cake, dust the cake with powdered sugar, then remove the stencil.
