Ingredients

  • 500 g starchy potatoes
  • Salt
  • 500 g pre-cooked fish fillet (e.g., cod or pollock)
  • 250 g shrimp (pre-cooked)
  • 1 stalk leeks
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 400 ml milk
  • black pepper (ground)
  • 100 g crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 50 g grated cheddar cheese
  • 100 ml milk
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. 1.

Wash, peel and cook potatoes in a pot of boiling salted water for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (180 °C fan; gas: level 3).

  2. 2.

Rinse fish fillets, pat dry and cut into bite-sized pieces. Rinse shrimp and pat dry. Wash leeks, trim and slice into rings.

  3. 3.

Melt 2 tbsp butter in a saucepan, sauté leeks for 2–3 minutes until translucent, add flour briefly and stir. Whisk in milk, season with salt and pepper, then fold in crème fraîche. Remove from heat and taste, adjusting seasoning as needed.

  4. 4.

Place fish, shrimp and parsley into a baking dish. Drizzle with lemon juice and pour the sauce over them.

  5. 5.

Drain potatoes, let them steam dry slightly and mash. Stir in butter, cheddar cheese and hot milk. Season with salt and nutmeg, then spread over the fish mixture. Bake Fish Pie for about 35 minutes until golden brown.
