Ground Beef Casserole with English Mashed Potato Topping

Ingredients
- 600 g waxy potatoes
- Salt
- 3 Carrots
- 2 onions
- 800 g ground beef
- 2 tbsp sunflower oil
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 300 ml meat broth
- Salt
- black pepper (freshly ground)
- 250 ml hot milk
- nutmeg
- butter (for greasing)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Peel and wash the potatoes, then boil in salted water for 25-30 minutes. Peel and finely dice the carrots and onions. Brown the ground beef in hot oil until crumbly. Add the vegetables and cook briefly. Stir in the tomato paste. Pour in the broth and season with salt and pepper.

Drain the potatoes, let them dry, then mash. Mix in the hot milk and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Grease four baking dishes. Fill each dish with the beef mixture, then pipe the mashed potato topping using a star nozzle and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Remove and serve immediately. Optionally accompany with peas, carrots, or other vegetables.
