Filled Dough Pockets with Ground Beef and Onions

Ingredients
- 225 g flour
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 50 g pork lard (flakes)
- 40 g butter (small pieces)
- 1 onion
- 1 small red chili pepper
- 4 Tbsp sunflower oil
- 150 g ground beef
- Salt
- black pepper (ground)
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs

Grind all dough ingredients between the hands to a sandy consistency, add 2-3 tbsp water and knead into a smooth dough. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Meanwhile, peel and slice the onion thinly. Wash, clean and chop the chili pepper. Heat sunflower oil in a pan and brown the ground beef until crumbly. Season with salt, pepper and curry, add the onion and stir until translucent. Remove from heat, let cool and mix in breadcrumbs. Preheat oven to 180 °C fan.

Divide dough into 8 equal parts and shape into balls. Roll each ball into a ~12 cm circle. Spoon filling onto the center of each circle, leaving a 2‑3 cm border. Fold dough over filling into half-moons and press edges together with a fork. Place on parchment-lined tray with space between, bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
