Fiery Drumsticks with Onions and Potato Wedges

- olive oil (for the tray)
- 500 g waxy potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt
- pepper (ground)
- 1 tbsp beetroot syrup
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp Paprika powder (sweet)
- 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 kg chicken drumsticks
- 4 onions
- 30 g Sesame seeds

Preheat the oven to 220°C with top and bottom heat. Brush the baking tray with oil.

Wash the potatoes, peel if desired, and cut into wedges. Season with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then spread on the tray. Mix beetroot syrup with sesame oil, sweet chili sauce, turmeric, paprika, and cayenne. Rinse the chicken pieces, pat dry, make several diagonal slits, and coat with the marinade. Place them on top of the potatoes. Peel the onions, slice into ~2 cm thick rounds, press the cut sides into sesame seeds, then lay on the tray and sprinkle remaining sesame over everything. Bake in the oven for about 35 minutes.
