- 4 slices breakfast bacon
- 16 dates
- 1 tbsp oil
- 8 toothpicks
- 2 slices white bread
- 200 g field salad
- 1 tbsp White Wine Vinegar
- Salt
- Pepper
- a pinch sugar
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp chive ribbons
Instructions

Cut the breakfast bacon in half and wrap each piece around a date. Secure with a toothpick. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and brown the bacon-wrapped dates all over. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Trim the crusts off the bread. Dice the white bread into cubes. Toast the bread cubes in the bacon fat in the pan. Remove and set aside.

Wash, trim, and drain the field salad well. Whisk together vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, and olive oil, then marinate the salad with this dressing.

Arrange the salad on four plates alongside all the dates. Sprinkle with croutons and chives before serving.
