Ingredients

  • 1 red chicory
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp liquid honey
  • 2 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 4 figs
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1 baguette
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • arugula (for garnish)

Instructions

    Wash, trim, and cut the chicory into strips. Sauté briefly in 1 tbsp oil over high heat. Drizzle with honey, remove from heat, deglaze with balsamic vinegar, and season with salt and pepper.

    Peel figs and slice into wedges. Wash tomatoes, remove stems, and slice into wedges as well. Combine figs and tomatoes on the chicory and let sit at room temperature to warm slightly.

    Preheat oven to grill mode. Slice baguette into about 12 pieces and toast both sides under the hot grill until golden brown. Peel garlic cloves and halve them. Rub each bread slice with the cut side of a garlic half, drizzle with remaining olive oil, top with the fig‑tomato mixture, and serve garnished with arugula.
