Fattoush Salad

Those who love bread salad will adore this Lebanese bread salad – the Fattoush Salad from Spoonsparrow!

Ingredients

  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 1 cucumber
  • 8 Cherry tomatoes
  • 10 g Mint (0.5 bunch)
  • 10 g parsley (0.5 bunch)
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 2 pita breads
  • 1 Organic lemon
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp sumac

Instructions

    Clean, wash and cut romaine lettuce into bite‑sized pieces. Peel, wash, pat dry and cube cucumber. Wash tomatoes, pat dry and halve them. Wash mint and parsley, shake dry and roughly chop. Peel onion, halve it and slice thinly.

    Cut pita breads into about 2 × 2 cm squares and lightly toast them in a hot pan without oil over medium heat for 5 minutes.

    Rinse lemon under hot water, pat dry, grate the zest and squeeze out the juice. Peel garlic and finely chop. Mix garlic with lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil and honey. Season with salt, pepper and sumac. Combine all salad components and drizzle with the dressing. Serve immediately.
