Simple Strawberry Tart by Spoonsparrow: The summer cake appears on the table in no time and is incredibly easy to make!
Ingredients
- 150 g flour
- 50 g fine sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 0.5 tsp lemon zest
- 1 egg
- 100 g butter
- 500 g strawberries
- 2 tbsp crushed ladyfingers
- 100 g gooseberry jam
- 2 tbsp Campari
Instructions
-
1.
Mix the flour, sugar, salt and lemon zest; sift onto a work surface, create a well in the center, crack the egg into it, and scatter butter pieces around the well. Quickly knead with hands into a smooth dough, shape into a ball, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-
2.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with upper and lower heat.
-
3.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 4 mm thickness and line a greased tart pan. Form a small edge, prickle the base with a fork multiple times. Line with trimmed parchment paper, scatter peas over it, and blind bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove, discard peas and parchment, lift the crust from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
-
4.
Wash, dry and halve the strawberries, leaving small berries whole. Sprinkle the tart base with crushed ladyfingers and arrange the strawberries on top.
-
5.
Heat the gooseberry jam with Campari and coat the strawberries with it. Let them dry slightly. Serve the simple strawberry tart with whipped cream if desired.
