Ingredients
- 1 l water
- 1 l black tea
- 400 g dried dates
- 1 tbsp cardamom pods
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 1 stick vanilla
- 6 cloves
- 0.5 tsp white pepper (ground)
- brown sugar (for sweetening)
Instructions

Coarsely chop the dates and simmer them in water. Add the spices and bring to a boil. Simmer gently for about 30–50 minutes, reducing the liquid by roughly half.

Pour everything through a sieve, then squeeze the dates well.

Add 1 l hot but not too strong black tea and season with brown sugar.

Serve as desired, garnished with finely chopped dates and one cinnamon stick in glasses.
