Currant Jam Basic Recipe

The basic recipe for currant jam from Spoonsparrow tastes delicious and always turns out well!

Ingredients

  • 1 kg red currants
  • 500 g gelatin sugar (2:1)
  • 0.5 lemon

Instructions

    Clean jars and lids thoroughly. Boil them in a pot of water for about 10 minutes, remove and let dry on a clean towel.

    Wash the currants, pat dry and trim. Place them with sugar and lemon juice in a large pot. Press down with a masher. Let sit for 20 minutes, then bring to a boil. Skim off any foam and cook the currants for 4-5 minutes over medium heat.
