- 700 g currants
- 0.25 l dry red wine
- 500 g gelatin sugar (2:1)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp ground vanilla (optional)

Wash the berries, drain and separate them from the stems with a fork, then place in a pot. Add the red wine, lemon juice, and sugar; stir and bring to a boil over medium heat while stirring constantly.

Boil for about 4 minutes, perform a gelling test, then fill jars up to the rim. Seal tightly and stand upside down for 10 minutes.
