Colorful Bratwurst Skewers

Vibrant bratwurst skewers: This is all about the beloved sausage – served in a light way with vegetables and apple on sticks.

Ingredients

  • 150 g greenish apples (1 greenish apple)
  • 150 g small yellow zucchini (1 small yellow zucchini)
  • 2 small red onions
  • 252 g reduced‑fat Nürnberger Rostbratwurst (12 reduced‑fat Nürnberger Rostbratwürstchen; 22% fat)
  • 1 tbsp Rapeseed Oil
  • 1 tbsp sweet mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple juice
  • Pepper (freshly ground)

Instructions

    Wash the apple, dry it, quarter it, core it, and slice into rounds.

    Wash, trim, halve the zucchini, and slice into rounds as well.

  3. 3.

    Peel the onions and cut them into eighths.

    Cut the sausages crosswise in half and skewer alternately with apple, zucchini, and onion pieces on 6 long skewers. (Note: If using wooden skewers, soak them for about 15 minutes beforehand to prevent burning!) Place the skewers in a large aluminum grill pan.

    Whisk together oil, mustard, and apple juice in a small bowl, season with pepper. Brush the skewers with this mixture and cook on a hot grill rack for 8–10 minutes, turning 2–3 times.
