Coffee Dates
Coffee dates with goat yogurt: this dessert is almost fat- and sugar-free. It is rich in the minerals potassium and calcium.
Ingredients
- 375 g fresh dates
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 4 cloves allspice
- 12 cardamom pods
- 400 ml espresso (or very strong coffee)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 450 g goat yogurt
- 1 Organic Orange
- 3 drops orange blossom water
- Lemon balm (optional)
Instructions

Slice the dates lengthwise on one side and remove the pits.

Break the cinnamon stick into small pieces. Place dates, cinnamon pieces, and allspice in a large jar or similar container.

Lightly crush the cardamom pods with a heavy knife.

Heat espresso with sugar and cardamom until just below boiling point and pour over the dates.

Seal the jar and let the dates infuse in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

On the day before serving, place goat yogurt in a sieve lined with a coffee filter or muslin. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight to drain.

Wash, dry, and zest the orange. Mix drained yogurt with 1 tsp orange zest and orange blossom water until smooth. Serve with very cold dates. Garnish with optional orange curls and lemon balm.
