Cinnamon Cookies

Ingredients

  • 60 g soft butter
  • 50 g cream cheese
  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 180 g flour
  • 0.25 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp liquid butter
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

    Whisk butter with cream cheese, then stir in sugar, egg yolk and vanilla sugar. Mix flour and baking powder together and fold into the mixture.

    Roll the dough between two sheets of clear plastic film to a size of about 20 x 30 cm, remove the top sheet of plastic, then brush the dough with melted butter.

    Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the dough (reserve about 1 tbsp).

    Using the lower sheet of plastic, roll the dough from the narrow side, then coat the rolled dough in cinnamon sugar. Wrap the dough again in plastic and refrigerate for about 3 hours.

    For baking cut the roll into slices about 5 mm thick and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (middle rack) for about 12 minutes until golden yellow. Let the cinnamon rolls cool on a cooling rack.
