Christmas Tree Cookies

Ingredients

• 100 g marzipan base
• 2 egg whites
• 200 g ground, trimmed almond kernels
• 1 yolk
• 70 g butter
• 50 g sugar
• whipped cream (as needed)
• green sugar

Instructions

   Grate the marzipan finely into a bowl, add the egg whites and beat with an electric mixer until creamy, set aside to rest.

   For the dough, put all ingredients into a bowl and cut through with a knife, then knead into a smooth dough. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.

   Then roll out thin, cut tree shapes and lightly brush the surface with the marzipan mixture and dust with sugar. Make holes in the tops for hangers. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 10–15 minutes (until done).
