Ingredients
- 1 pork leg approximately 2 kg (without skin and lightly cured)
- 800 g waxy potatoes
- 1 untreated orange
- 20 cloves
- 2 tbsp honey
- 300 ml light beer (or non-alcoholic alternative)
- Salt
- ground pepper
Instructions
-
1.
Preheat the oven to 160°C with both top and bottom heat.
-
2.
Rinse the pork leg, pat it dry, place it in a deep baking tray or roasting pan, and pour about 250 ml water over it. Roast for approximately 1.5 hours, basting with water every so often and adding more liquid as needed.
-
3.
Wash and halve the potatoes. Slice the orange into thin rounds. Remove the roast from the oven and arrange the orange slices on top. Pinch the cloves onto the slices to keep them in place. Drizzle honey over everything and spread the potatoes around the roast. Pour in the beer and return to the oven for another hour, basting regularly with liquid.
-
4.
Season the sauce at the end with salt and pepper (optionally thicken with a little starch). Plate the pork leg with its sauce and potatoes and serve.
