Chickpea and Bean Skillet with Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Green Chili Pepper
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 400 g Chickpeas (canned; drained weight)
  • 400 g kidney beans (canned; drained weight)
  • 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
  • 800 ml vegetable broth
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder
  • 30 g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)

Instructions

    Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Halve the green chili, deseed, wash and chop it. Clean, wash, halve, deseed and dice the tomatoes. Drain and rinse the chickpeas and beans.

    Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté for 3 minutes. Stir in 1/4 tsp chili powder and cook everything together for another 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, pour in the broth, then stir in the drained chickpeas and beans.
