Chicken with Sage

Attention poultry lovers: This chicken with sage offers a wonderful taste experience!

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken (ca. 1.2 kg)
  • Vinegar
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Honey
  • 2 sprigs sage
  • 2 onions
  • 0.25 l red wine
  • 400 ml poultry stock
  • 0.5 lemon (juice)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

    Pat the chicken dry with a bit of vinegar.

    Wash, pat dry and finely chop the sage leaves.

  3. 3.

    Combine lemon juice, honey, sage, and olive oil in a bowl and stir well. Season generously with salt and pepper. Pour the sage marinade over the chicken and cover for about 1 hour in the refrigerator.

    Peel the onion and cut into large pieces. Peel the garlic cloves.

  5. 5.

    Place the chicken with the onion pieces and garlic cloves in a roasting pan and pour some poultry stock over it. Roast at 175°C for about 1 hour, adding more stock and red wine occasionally. Serve the sage chicken with your choice of side dishes.
