Chestnut-Fig Quiche with Cheese
A chestnut-fig quiche with cheese is easy to prepare and tastes great for dinner, lunch, or as a take‑out option.
Ingredients
- 200 g Flour
- 100 g cold butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 50 g powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- flour (for dusting)
- butter (for the pan)
- 6 fresh figs
- 150 g precooked chestnuts (vacuum packed)
- 200 g goat cream cheese
- 150 g freshly grated Bergkäse
- 250 ml whipping cream (at least 30% fat content)
- 3 eggs
- Salt
- white pepper
Instructions
-
1.
Quickly knead the dough ingredients together, shape into a ball and wrap in cling film; chill for about an hour. Butter the quiche tin. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) with both fan and top heat.
-
2.
Roll out the dough on a floured work surface and line the tin. Trim any excess edges. Wash the figs if needed, pat dry, cut into eighths, and arrange on the pastry base. Roughly chop the chestnuts and scatter over the figs.
-
3.
Whisk together the cream cheese with half of the Bergkäse, the whipping cream, and the eggs; season with salt and pepper, then spread over the figs. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve with green salad if desired.
