Cheese Macaroni with Cocktail Tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 500 g macaroni
  • Salt
  • 1 onion
  • 30 g Butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 100 ml heavy cream (at least 30% fat)
  • 400 ml milk
  • 100 g grated Parmesan
  • black pepper (freshly ground)
  • Cayenne pepper
  • 200 g Cherry tomatoes
  • chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C fan. Cook the macaroni in salted water until very firm. Drain and rinse under cold water.

    Peel and finely dice the onion. Sauté the onion cubes in hot butter, add the flour, stir briefly, then pour in the cream and milk while whisking. Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously.

    Stir in half of the cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper to taste.

    Wash and halve the tomatoes. Combine the noodles with the tomatoes and transfer to a baking dish.

    Pour the sauce over the mixture. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.

    Sprinkle with chives before serving.
