Cheese Hedgehog for the Party

A cheese hedgehog is always a hit at parties. Learn how to assemble the hedgehog with Spoonsparrow!

Ingredients

  • 1 cantaloupe (for the hedgehog body)
  • 0.25 green bell pepper
  • 100 g cocktail tomatoes
  • 2 cornichons
  • 150 g grapes (red and green)
  • 60 g raspberries
  • 80 g blueberries
  • 200 g Emmental cheese
  • 200 g Tilsiter cheese
  • 200 g herb‑infused hard cheese

Instructions

    Flatten one side of the cantaloupe for better stability and place it on a plate or platter.

  2. 2.

    Use a small ball cutter to punch out balls from the cut piece. Wash, trim, and dice the bell pepper. Wash and halve the tomatoes. Drain and slice the cornichons. Wash grapes and remove stems. Rinse raspberries and blueberries and pat dry.

    Cube Emmental into about 2 cm pieces. Slice Tilsiter and herb cheese into roughly 2 cm thick slices and cut small shapes such as hearts or moons with a cookie cutter.

    Skewer each cheese piece with a fruit or vegetable bite on a toothpick and evenly insert them onto the cantaloupe until it is fully covered.

    Refrigerate until serving and accompany with salted pretzels, small toast pieces, or crispbread.
