Cheese Fondue

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 350 g Emmentaler
  • 350 g Gruyere cheese
  • 400 ml dry white wine
  • 1 tsp starch
  • 20 ml kirsch
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

    Peel the garlic and cut one clove in half. Rub the fondue pot with it, then slice both cloves into thin rounds. Grate the cheese coarsely and add it to the pot along with the garlic and wine. Melt over low heat on the stove. Whisk the starch in the kirsch until smooth and pour into the fondue. Stir and warm for about 5 more minutes until the fondue thickens. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

    Place the cheese fondue on a rechaud and set to low heat. Dip slices of white bread with fondue forks and enjoy.
