Cheese Fondue with Sausage Pieces

Ingredients
- 1 Garlic clove
- 475 ml dry white wine
- 400 g Emmental
- 400 g Gruyère cheese
- 15 g starch
- 50 ml kirsch
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- a pinch nutmeg
- 400 g chicken breast fillet (pre‑cooked, skinless)
- 8 slices breakfast bacon
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 400 g smoked sausages (choice)
- 1 green apple
- 8 mandarin segments (canned)
- 8 slices Black Forest ham

Wash the meat, pat dry, cut into large pieces and wrap each piece with a slice of bacon. In a hot pan with oil brown all sides. Peel the sausage if needed, cut into pieces and brown in the pan. Wash the apple, quarter it, remove the core and cut into thin slivers. Drain the mandarins. Roll one ham slice loosely and thread onto a skewer with an apple sliver and a mandarin segment.

Prepare the fondue pot, press the garlic clove slightly, halve it and rub the pot with it. Heat the wine in the pot, grate the cheese while it heats, then add to the wine and stir constantly over medium heat until smooth.

Whisk starch with some kirsch until smooth, fold into the cheese mixture, let it thicken once. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Place the pot on a burner and set to low heat.

Use fondue forks to dip sausage, meat and ham skewers into the cheese and enjoy.
