Caramelized Oranges

The caramelized oranges of Spoonsparrow are not only delicious but also land on the plate in no time!

Ingredients

  • 2 oranges (seedless)
  • 2 tbsp whole cane sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 50 g Greek yogurt

Instructions

    Cut off the ends of the oranges, peel strips from the rind and completely remove the white pith. Separate orange segments between the membranes, strain the juice over a sieve and squeeze the remaining pulp.

    For the caramel sauce, sprinkle the whole cane sugar into a pan and let it caramelize to golden brown on low heat (about 7-8 minutes).

    Deglaze with the orange juice and simmer the sauce under stirring on low heat until the sugar has dissolved.

    Remove the pot from heat and refine the sauce with vanilla. Briefly swirl the oranges in the caramel sauce and serve the caramelized oranges warm with Greek yogurt.
