Ingredients
- 1 tsp butter
- 250 g popcorn kernels
- 50 g cane sugar
- 30 ml water

Add butter and popcorn kernels to a pot and heat over medium heat. Once the popcorn starts popping, close the lid and turn off the burner. Leave the pot on the turned-off burner until all kernels have popped, shaking occasionally to prevent burning. Transfer the popcorn to a wide bowl.

Pour water and cane sugar into a saucepan and bring to a boil. When the caramel at the pan edge turns amber, immediately reduce heat, then swirl the pan so the sugar caramelizes evenly. The caramel is done when it is lightly brown. Pour it over the popcorn, stir quickly several times, and let cool slightly.
