Hold the boiled lobster on its carapace and detach the claws from the body.

Cut the lower claw segments at the joint of the claw.

Bend and pull off the upper, small claw finger backwards.

Score the carapace of the large claw with a heavy knife.

Slice around the carapace from all sides until it breaks apart.
