Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 150 g marzipan base
  • 40 ml rum (or 1-2 tbsp water and rum flavoring)
  • 200 g finely ground almonds (peeled)
  • 100 g whole peeled almonds
  • egg white (for brushing)

Instructions

    Beat the egg whites with the sugar until stiff peaks form. Mix the marzipan with the rum until smooth, then fold in the ground almonds and the beaten egg whites to create a pliable dough. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 160 °C fan.

    Shape small balls from the dough, press three whole almonds into each. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with egg white. Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Remove, cool, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
