Ingredients

  • 4 green bell peppers
  • 1 roll (from yesterday)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 300 g mixed ground meat
  • 100 g cooked rice
  • 250 ml broth
  • 1 egg
  • Salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tsp paprika powder (sweet)
  • 3 tomatoes (peeled, seeded and chopped into chunks)

    Wash the bell peppers, cut off the tops, rinse them and remove the seeds. Soak the roll in lukewarm water. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic; sauté them in 1 tbsp oil. Mix the ground meat, egg, squeezed-out roll crumbs and rice; add the onion-garlic mixture and season with salt and pepper. Stuff the peppers with this filling, replace the tops and brush with the remaining olive oil. Whisk tomato paste with broth and paprika powder, pour into a pot with the tomato chunks, then place the stuffed peppers on top. Seal well and cook over low heat for about 45 minutes; add a little water if needed.
