Baked Herring Rolls

Ingredients

  • 600 g herring fillet (with skin, boneless)
  • Salt
  • black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2 tbsp chopped dill sprigs
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp chives
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 300 ml heavy cream
  • 120 g grated Gräddost cheese

Instructions

    Rinse the herring fillets briefly under running cold water and pat dry. Roll each fillet skin side outwards, place them side by side in a greased baking dish, and season with salt and pepper.

    Mix the herbs, mustard, cream, and cheese together; spread this mixture over the herring rolls.

    Place the dish in a preheated oven at 220 °C (fan‑forced) and bake for about 25 minutes until the tops are lightly browned. Remove from the oven and serve directly in the dish.
